The ISO Facilitates Creating Standards and Innovative Solutions

Established in 1985, VerTech International, Inc. is a manufacturer that provides products across industries, such as machinery, power generation, electronics, and aerospace. Located in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, VerTech International, Inc. is also an ISO 9001-2015 certified business.

ISO certification means that an organization has met all of the quality assurance and standardization requirements this organization has established. An independent, non-governmental organization, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) brings together experts to exchange information and create and publish standards.

ISO certification has five designations. ISO 9001 relates to putting customers first. Guidelines specific to the business are ISO 45001, which guides how to protect employees, and ISO 22301, which provides guidelines on business disruption. Finally, ISO 140001 provides guidelines on reducing environmental impact.

In terms of having an ISO 9001-2015 certification, this designation refers to the company adhering to a set of quality management standards that improve customer satisfaction. The last for numbers only refer to the calendar when the standards were implemented, and in the case of 9001-2015, this was the fifth edition of ISO standards for this designation.

ISO certification offers businesses a range of benefits. The certification can be cost-effective in that it reduces insurance premiums, reduces costs, and helps during the bidding process. Another operational advantage is that it improves efficiency, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction.

The costs for becoming ISO certified vary based on the size of the company and the standards that the company has independently implemented. Moreover, if implementing more than one standard, there are additional costs.
